Ms Anindita Adya

Registered Clinical Psychologist

I'm a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, skilled in case conceptualisation and therapeutic formulation, experienced in psychological assessments, clinical diagnosis, and applying evidence-based intervention.

About Me

I’m a clinical psychologist working primarily with adults and couples, with a strong focus on neurodivergent individuals and those navigating trauma, complex PTSD, and long-standing mood and anxiety difficulties. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling misunderstood, over-pathologised, or exhausted by approaches that never quite fit — particularly if they are autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, or have spent years masking to cope. My work is especially grounded in supporting people who appear “high-functioning” on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck on the inside. This often includes adults processing relational trauma, attachment wounds, burnout, identity confusion, and the cumulative impact of living in systems that were not designed for their nervous systems or ways of being. I practice with strong cultural sensitivity and am particularly attuned to the experiences of individuals from the South Asian diaspora, including the influence of family dynamics, intergenerational expectations, migration, and identity conflicts on mental health. I aim to offer a therapeutic space that feels respectful, thoughtful, and unhurried.

Approach

My approach to therapy is integrative, relational, and collaborative. I draw from CBT, DBT, Humanistic and Existential therapies, Gestalt work, and the Gottman Method for couples. Rather than applying techniques rigidly, I adapt therapy to each client’s nervous system, communication style, cultural context, and lived experience. I place strong emphasis on safety, meaning-making, and emotional attunement, especially for clients who have had long or difficult histories with therapy. Sessions with me balance depth and practicality — making space for emotional processing while also building skills that support day-to-day functioning. I don’t view distress as something to be “fixed” in isolation. Instead, we work together to understand patterns, relationships, and internal experiences in context, with the aim of developing insight, self-compassion, and sustainable ways of coping and relating.

Basic Information

Services

I offer individual therapy for adults and couples therapy. My primary areas of work include trauma and complex PTSD, neurodivergence (autism, ADHD, AuDHD), mood and anxiety disorders, burnout, relational difficulties, and identity-related concerns. In individual therapy, I often work with clients who feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves or others, stuck in long-standing patterns, or unsure how to move forward despite significant insight. Many of my clients have tried therapy before and are looking for an approach that feels more attuned and nuanced. In couples therapy, I work with partners experiencing emotional distance, communication breakdowns, and recurring conflict — particularly where neurodivergence, attachment differences, or caregiver–dependent dynamics are present. The focus is on improving understanding, rebuilding emotional safety, and creating more balanced and connected relationships. Across all my work, my aim is to provide a space where clients feel genuinely understood and supported in building a life and relationships that feel more authentic and sustainable.
