Psychotherapist

verified by TherapyRoute

A professionally qualified and accredited psychotherapist and counsellor working in private practise in Galway City since 2004.

About Me

I offer a supportive space in Galway City, drawing on two decades of experience. As an accredited psychotherapist, I help individuals explore their thoughts, feelings and patterns in their life, which may have become unhelpful. We work together to make sense of life's complexities. This collaboration fosters understanding, helping to find a way forward in better relationship with yourself. Clients seeking a consistent, trusted presence can feel secure here, knowing they will receive professional attention and care.

Approach

Many years of experience, working with a broad range of clients in Galway, has taught me to tune into patterns clients carry due to past experiences. These patterns involve thoughts and feelings which colour the present and prevent full engagement with everyday life, in a full and open way. I then shape sessions around what matters most in the moment. I meet adolescents, adults, couples and groups in Galway and online in English, offering a calm, structured setting with gentle pacing and clear check-ins. I use collaborative, practical techniques that help translate painful memories, body-image distress or overwhelming moods into manageable steps between sessions. People seeking steady, thoughtful support often find this way of working grounding and hopeful.

Basic Information

Services

I work with my clients relationship towards themselves, looking at where the connection may have been interrupted due to events from the past. I work to reinstate a sense of self-compassion and understanding, and a reclaiming of an inner relationship founded on empathy, connection, acceptance and support. I use various techniques based on many years of training and experience including: body based awareness, self compassion exercises and family constellation exercises, alongside attention on reflection and insight.
