Ms Alexis Jordan

Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

I am Alexis Jordan, M.A., AMFT. I am a couple’s and family therapist with special interests in treating and healing mental illness, parent-child psychotherapy, childhood trauma, and socio-cultural issues. I work in divorce/co-parenting mediation, premarital, domestic violence, and other forms of couple’s therapy.

About Me

As a couple's and family therapist, I help clients navigate deep-seated challenges impacting relationships. I specialise in healing mental illness, addressing childhood trauma, and understanding socio-cultural issues. I offer a focused space to explore dynamics, whether for premarital discussions or divorce/co-parenting mediation. My aim is to help families resolve conflict and foster healthier connections. This includes navigating sensitive domestic violence concerns.

Approach

When relationships strain under trauma, cultural stress, or major transitions, I create a steady, collaborative rhythm that helps people feel seen and heard. In sessions—in person in Olympia Fields or via secure online meetings—we use targeted conversation, reflective exercises, and practical between-session tasks to slow reactivity, rebuild safety, and clarify roles. With adolescents, parents, couples, or larger family systems I balance structure with curiosity, pacing work to your needs. This approach tends to suit those ready to engage honestly and make gradual, tangible change.
