Alexa Holzberger

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I am a trained psychotherapist licensed in CT and NY. Using psychodynamic, relational, and evidence-based approaches, I specialize in working with teens and young adults facing challenges like burnout, perfectionism, identity confusion, social and dating anxiety, post-college drift, shame, trauma, and disconnection.

About Me

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I offer advocacy, counselling, and relationship support. I also provide a free consultation so we can talk through your needs and see if we’re a good fit. I became a therapist because of my own mental health journey. Much of what I bring to my work as a clinician stems from my experiences as a client. I truly believe that my personal struggles have given me a deeper understanding and empathy for human suffering. This allows me to create a therapeutic space where you feel deeply seen, heard, and understood. After all, the foundation of effective therapy is a relationship built on connection and trust.

Approach

Therapy with me balances deeper exploration with practical, doable changes, gentle enough to fit into a busy life, but steady enough to shift long-standing patterns. I see clients in New York and also offer secure online sessions in English, with scheduling that works around work, school, and family commitments. In our sessions, we look at the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, try small experiments between meetings, and reflect on the changes as they unfold. This approach often suits people who seem put-together on the outside but are looking for more ease and connection within.
