“Hi, I'm Aditi Mukund! I'm a queer-affirmative clinical psychologist. I believe understanding a person goes beyond their symptoms or diagnosis, and that therapy is a process that needn’t be rushed to a solution.”

About me

I'm an RCI-registered Clinical Psychologist based in Gurgaon. I work primarily with adolescents and young adults, and my work involves both psychotherapy and psychological assessments. My clinical interests include understanding attachment patterns, emotional experiences, interpersonal relationships, and the ways our earlier experiences continue to influence us. I'm also a queer-affirmative practitioner, with training through the Mariwala Health Initiative (MHI). Being mindful of people's identities, backgrounds, lived experiences and associated minority stress is something I consider particularly important in my work. Outside of the more clinical aspects of my profession, I've always been someone who enjoys understanding people and what makes them who they are. I think that curiosity has naturally found its way into how I practise psychology too.

Approach

I don't believe therapy needs to follow the same structure or pace for everyone. Some things take time to understand, and sometimes knowing why something happens doesn't necessarily mean we're ready to change it just yet. My approach is integrative, queer-affirmative, and informed by an understanding of trauma. I draw quite a bit from attachment theory, particularly when exploring how our relationships and experiences shape the way we connect with ourselves and others. Emotion-focused techniques are also an important part of my work, alongside approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Depending on what we're working through, sessions might involve exploring emotions and patterns, developing practical skills, or finding ways to manage particularly difficult experiences. I value having a collaborative relationship with the people I work with. While therapy can involve difficult conversations, I also think there's room for curiosity, humour, and figuring things out as we go.
