Dr Dawson Cooke

Clinical Psychologist

Dawson is deeply committed to his role in helping others gain insight, find relief from distress and develop life-giving skills.

About Me

Dawson approaches his work with genuine dedication, supporting individuals to make sense of themselves and their experiences. He works collaboratively to explore emotional difficulties, patterns in relationships, and the moments when understanding oneself or others feels lost. Dawson helps clients develop a deeper capacity to reflect on thoughts, feelings, and intentions—both their own and those of others. Clients value his thoughtful, steady approach and his commitment to fostering insight, resilience, and lasting change in how they relate to themselves and the people around them.

Approach

With a strong focus on insight and practical change, I structure sessions to be calm, paced and collaboratively focused. From Margaret River or via English-language online sessions, we track patterns in mood and anxiety, gently exploring thoughts, feelings and relationship moments through a mentalising lens. Assessment informs where we start and how progress is measured, and I often suggest short, practical experiments between meetings to test new ways of relating. This approach suits adolescents and adults seeking steady, usable progress.
