Dr Mohammad Barzegar, PhD

Clinical Psychologist

“Clinical Psychologist (PhD) | Psychosomatic Medicine Post-doc | University Faculty. Specializing in Third-Wave Therapies, Personality Disorders, and Couples Counseling.”

About me

I am a Clinical Psychologist holding a PhD in Clinical Psychology and a Post-doctorate in Psychosomatic Medicine. As a university faculty member, I bridge rigorous academic research with compassionate clinical practice. I offer a deeply informed, non-judgmental space for individuals, couples, and families. We work together to understand complex mental health challenges, personality patterns, and the intricate connections between mind and body. Drawing on my dual expertise in clinical psychology and psychosomatics, I help you explore underlying dynamics. This approach enables practical strategies for healthier relating and lasting emotional change. It suits those seeking a highly qualified, compassionate guide through difficult experiences.

Approach

My therapeutic approach is integrative, evidence-based, and rooted in third-wave cognitive behavioral therapies. I primarily draw on Mode-Based Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Process-Based Therapy. Rather than just addressing surface-level symptoms, we explore the deeper schemas, modes, and psychological processes that drive them. Sessions are focused and collaborative: we map out patterns, test small changes, and track how new ways of relating land between meetings. By integrating psychosomatic perspectives, we also pay attention to how emotional and physical health interact. I pace the work according to your resources and readiness, ensuring you gain grounded, practical strategies you can use right away. This approach is highly effective for individuals, couples, and families seeking durable, skill-based, and meaningful change.
