Emancipate yourself.
❝Stuck in the same old patterns? Maybe it's time to use your brain to create new ones of your choosing.❞
These powerful words from Redemption Song often come to mind when observing a client stuck in past hurts. Rather like an unwanted, old piece of chewing gum on a brand new shoe!
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery None but ourselves can free our minds
Therapy should be personal. Therapists listed on TherapyRoute are qualified, independent, and free to answer to you – no scripts, algorithms, or company policies.

Emancipating is not chewing and re-chewing those same old issues.
Emancipating is not ignoring and hoping it will simply disappear.
What is it? Firstly insight (knowledge and understanding) is needed to recognize you are enslaved to your past. Next, it is trying to identify the source(s). Then comes the very important part: giving yourself permission to leave it behind. Now you are ready to embark on a journey of freedom.
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Oops, but this is rather hard. Sometimes those chewing gum problems are extra sticky. Even with insight and desire to change, those neural pathways of the brain keep that shoe stepping right into the same piece of gum repeatedly. Luckily us Psychologists are well versed in mental emancipation.
We are experts trained to guide clients using therapy techniques. (We leave medication to Psychiatrists). Some of us have extended our training to include Brain Working Recursive therapy (BWRT). A fantastic new therapy based in neuroscience and developed in the UK by Terence Watts, BWRT .
BWRT works very naturally inside those neural pathways. A quick process using a response of your choosing allows changes to be made permanent. When done correctly that old gum of hurt changes, leaving you feeling better and often instantly too. But of course, this can only be done with your full permission to self and Psychologist.
