Ms Yajnika Pillay

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Life can sometimes become difficult to make sense of, particularly when emotional struggles begin to intersect with questions about meaning, faith, culture or identity. You might notice yourself returning to the same patterns in relationships, feeling unsettled by experiences you cannot easily explain, or trying to understand feelings that seem to come from somewhere deeper in your past. People arrive in therapy in many different ways. Some are trying to understand long-standing patterns in their lives, others are working through painful experiences from childhood or earlier relationships, and some are simply searching for a place where they can speak openly about what they have been carrying for a long time.

About Me

I specialise in working with depression, trauma, sexual difficulties and relationship challenges. My approach is psychodynamic and integrative, with a particular focus on the intersection of culture, religion, spirituality, and psychological life. I welcome individuals from all spiritual and religious backgrounds. My intention is to step thoughtfully into your world, understanding how your beliefs, culture and inner life shape your experience, and to work in a way that honours both your emotional well-being and your search for meaning.

Approach

My hope is to offer a reflective, respectful and grounded space where you can bring yourself as you are. Together, we can think through and make sense of your experiences at a pace that feels containing and supportive. If this feels relevant, or if you have any questions, you are welcome to reach out. I would be glad to connect and see how I can support you.
