Ms Violet Kihara

Clinical Psychologist

verified by TherapyRoute

I support individuals and families navigating mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief; life adjustment and transitions; and personal development.

About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Nanyuki, Kenya. I assess and treat behavioural problems, mood disorders, family and identity issues, and life transitions. I offer psychometric testing, trauma counseling, mindfulness training, and psycho-education in a confidential clinical setting.

Approach

I approach therapy as a collaborative experience between the client and myself. We spend a few sessions taking the client's history in order to provide contextual background to the client issues. After that we breakdown the issues and come up with a plan to address each area of concern. The client maintains agency in the sessions and gets to offer feedback on what is working or what they are uncomfortable with. I treat each client's issues seriously and develop a treatment plan customised for each client by borrowing techniques and modalities from a variety of theories and models. I often combine talk therapy and experiential therapy.
