The challenges we face in relationships, self-worth and emotional wellbeing often have deeper roots than we realise. Through CBT, EMDR, mindfulness and attachment-focused therapy, I help people heal past wounds, develop self-understanding and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

About Me

My journey as a therapist began in Italy, where I qualified as a Psychologist in 2004 with the Ordine degli Psicologi Sicilia, a milestone that marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to understanding the human mind and supporting people through their most difficult moments. I then spent four years in intensive postgraduate training as a Cognitive Constructivist Psychotherapist, a form of narrative therapy rooted in attachment theory, which explores how our earliest relationships shape the stories we carry about ourselves, others, and the world. After moving to the United Kingdom, I became fully accredited with the BABCP as both a CBT Therapist and a CBT Supervisor, the recognised gold standard for CBT practice in Britain, working with people facing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and so much more. I also trained and became accredited in EMDR, a powerful evidence-based approach that helps the brain process stuck or overwhelming memories, freeing people not only from trauma and PTSD, but also from phobias, grief, shame, and the invisible weight of experiences that words alone sometimes cannot reach. Whatever brings someone to therapy, I believe they deserve to feel genuinely met, not just treated. Across more than two decades of practice, I have worked with people from many different backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life, and I remain as curious and moved by each person's story as I was at the very beginning. I hold myself to the ethical standards of my professional bodies in both Italy and the United Kingdom, and I continue to grow through ongoing supervision, research, and training. At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: that with the right support, real change is always possible. I am honored to be affiliated with the Integrated Science Association (ISA) and the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN). My research focus is on embodied, embedded, enacted, and extended cognition, and their relation to trauma, emotions, and consciousness, with a particular interest in phenomenology. As a BABCP accredited supervisor, I enjoy supporting clinicians in their personal and professional development and reflective practice. My personal practice is as important to me as my professional one. I have been shaped by two traditions that both find their roots in the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, the mindfulness and interbeing of Thich Nhat Hanh, and the transformative chant of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo through Nichiren Buddhism. I am therefore devoted to the idea that a kinder world is also a healthier one, and I carry that conviction into everything I do, in the therapy room, in my supervision work, and in how I engage with the wider community (Sangha). I am also a certified practitioner of Dr. Arielle Schwartz's approach to trauma-sensitive yoga, weaving together yoga, polyvagal theory, and EMDR therapy into a truly whole-person approach to healing. Outside the therapy room, I am happily married and deeply blessed to be the father of two wonderful twin girls, my greatest teachers in patience, joy, and fun! And when I am not working, you will most likely find me on a football pitch, and wishing all of you to play more and rediscover the lightness that life so generously offers. I am also a certified practitioner of Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma, trained by Dr. Arielle Schwartz in somatic, movement, and polyvagal techniques for clinicians, weaving together the ancient wisdom of yoga with the science of the nervous system and EMDR therapy into a truly whole-person approach to healing. It is also, I should say, a practice I deeply love in my own life, yoga has been as much a personal companion as a professional one.

Approach

My therapeutic thinking has been shaped by some of the most influential voices in psychology and psychotherapy. The humanistic warmth of Carl Rogers and his collaborators laid the foundation of how I understand the therapeutic relationship, as a space of genuine acceptance, empathy, and trust. Over the years, the work of Gabor Maté, Peter Levine, and Bessel van der Kolk has deepened my understanding of how trauma lives in the body and how healing truly happens. In the UK, the compassionate and profoundly human teachings of Paul Gilbert and Compassion Focused Therapy have been a great source of inspiration, while in Italy I was fortunate to be shaped by the rich theoretical tradition of Vittorio Guidano and Giovanni Liotti, whose constructivist ideas remain close to my clinical heart. For ten years, I worked within an NHS Trust, providing CBT to adults facing a wide range of emotional, cognitive, behavioural, and adjustment difficulties — including anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship problems. During that time, I also had the privilege of guiding over fifty clinicians in suicide risk screening, assessment, and treatment, work that I hold with great responsibility and care. Alongside this, I have collaborated closely with specialist trauma clinics, supporting people in their recovery from PTSD and childhood trauma. These experiences across two countries, two health systems, and many different human stories have made me the therapist I am today.
