Miss Trine Munkvold
Therapeutic Counselor
“I am a trauma-informed therapist and humanitarian professional with extensive experience supporting individuals affected by complex trauma, including incest, sexual abuse, domestic violence, honour-related violence, addiction, psychiatric challenges, and social exclusion. My work blends evidence-based psychotherapy with body-centered and somatic practices, creating a safe, grounded space for healing and transformation. My Approach My approach is compassionate, embodied, and client-centered. I integrate Compassionate Inquiry, Internal Family Systems (IFS), nervous system regulation, trauma-sensitive yoga, and breathwork to help clients uncover survival patterns, calm the nervous system, and reconnect with themselves. Sessions are held in a structured, attentive, and non-judgmental space, where healing unfolds at your pace. I believe in the innate capacity for self-healing, and my role is to walk alongside you with clarity, empathy, and practical tools for lasting change. Who I Work With I work primarily with adults who are survivors of complex trauma, including those affected by sexual abuse, domestic violence, honour-related violence, or chronic relational stress. My ideal clients are ready to explore healing beyond symptoms, seeking internal safety, emotional regulation, and a deeper connection with themselves. Together we work to build resilience, self-compassion, and the ability to respond rather than react to life’s challenges. Professional Experience I have extensive experience as a humanitarian aid and social worker, supporting individuals and communities in vulnerable situations. My work spans refugee support, social inclusion, mentoring, addiction care, psychiatric health care, Housing First projects, domestic violence, honour-related violence, incest, and sexual abuse.
