Mrs Tini Visser, BA

Counseling Psychologist

My practice is dedicated to helping students and young adults understand their learning profiles, access appropriate scholastic accommodations, and make informed subject and career decisions. I draw on a comprehensive range of evidence-based psychometric tools and provide clear, practical recommendations to support academic success and wellbeing. My work is grounded in ethical practice, developmental sensitivity, and a commitment to ensuring equitable access to education for all learners.

About Me

I am a Counselling Psychologist based in the Strand area, specialising in comprehensive psycho-educational, cognitive, and career assessments for adolescents and young adults. With more than 25 years of experience and nine years working in a senior school, I support students in understanding their strengths, navigating learning barriers, and making confident academic and career decisions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in helping each student access equitable opportunities at school and beyond. I also provide career guidance for adults seeking clarity or a meaningful next step in their professional journey.

Approach

My approach is grounded in the belief that students flourish when they understand themselves—how they learn, what they need, and where their strengths lie. I use comprehensive, evidence-based assessments to uncover each learner’s cognitive, academic, and personal profile, and translate these findings into practical, accessible recommendations for home and school. My goal is to empower students with clarity and confidence, reduce unnecessary stress, and ensure equitable access to education through appropriate accommodations. I work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and schools so that each student receives the support they need to thrive academically and emotionally.
