Mr Thabo van Wyk, BPsych

Clinical Psychologist

verified by TherapyRoute

I focus primarily on working with adolescents and adults, offering tailored therapeutic interventions to address a wide range of psychological concerns and developmental challenges. I also provide both individual and couples therapy, using a client-centred approach to help clients navigate personal issues and relationship dynamics effectively.

About Me

I am a Clinical Psychologist currently serving the communities of Atteridgeville, Lotus Gardens, and Saulsville in Pretoria West. I work for the Gauteng Department of Health under the Tshwane District Health Services. My duties include providing psychological services within the district health system context, including ambulatory, preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative psychological care to people with suitably severe mental illnesses who are beyond the scope of PHC.

Approach

With years of training and counselling experience, I guide sessions with clarity and focus, keeping the pace comfortable for you. From my Pretoria North office or online, I work in English, Sesotho, or seTswana, combining brief check-ins, reflective feedback, and practical steps we agree on, so insights translate into real-life changes between sessions. Our work together is collaborative: we set achievable goals, track progress, and adjust as needed. This approach works well for adolescents, adults, and couples looking for practical, lasting shifts.
