Teal Foster

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

I hold a foundational belief that each person seeking therapy has the potential to improve their lives and possesses the resilience to overcome their challenges. My job as your therapist is to allow space to explore these feelings while also providing you with tools to diminish the distress around the experience.

About Me

I believe you possess the resilience to overcome challenges and improve your life. I guide you in exploring difficult feelings within a safe space. We also work to identify practical tools that diminish your distress. This balanced approach helps individuals and families seeking both deep understanding and concrete strategies for daily well-being.

Approach

We slow the pace to name what's happening, translate feelings into clear goals, and practice small changes that reduce daily distress. In Los Angeles sessions conducted in English, I create a calm, focused space where you'll notice how thoughts, relationships, and bodily reactions connect. We use mindfulness-based attention, behavioral experiments, and body-centered tracking to shift patterns, and when memories are stuck we gently work through them so they hold less power. This way of working tends to help people managing anxiety, relationship struggles, OCD patterns, trauma recovery, and the transitions of young adulthood.
