Miss Tashmira Kara, MA

Clinical Psychologist

Verified

I am a warm and gentle Clinical Psychologist who works with adolescents and adults. I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy, however, I am invested in providing uniquely tailored interventions to suit my client's needs lending me to adopt more integrated modalities when needed.

About Me

I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist practicing in Parkhurst, Gauteng, South Africa. I offer individual therapy to adolescents and adults, largely focusing on life transitions, anxiety, mood disorders, LGBTQI+ concerns, burnout and stress, and personal development. I integrate my clinical experience with a strong academic interest to create an empathic and compassionate space to explore one's inner world.

Approach

My practice is grounded in providing culturally sensitive, integrative interventions that are carefully tailored to each client’s circumstances and experiences. I work primarily through psychodynamic psychotherapy, however, I draw from CBT, DBT and attachment theory at times to meet clients unique needs. I am committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where individuals feel supported to deepen self-awareness and strengthen their capacity for resilience at their own pace. My work is guided by the belief that therapy should be both collaborative and adaptive, enabling clients to develop effective coping strategies, foster personal growth, and cultivate lasting change.
