“I help couples stop having the same argument again and again, understand each other better and become lovers again. Emotionally Focused couples therapy and sex therapy in Ponsonby, Auckland, and online across New Zealand.”

About me

I’m passionate about supporting couples to create a deeply connected relationship and exciting physical intimacy. I bring Emotionally Focused Therapy and sex therapy together. I help you stop having that same argument again and again, understand each other better, and become lovers again. Many couples I see want more sexual fulfilment, experience sexual difficulties, or have a history of unwanted sexual experiences. My work is trauma-informed, and we go at a pace that feels safe for both of you. I don’t teach this only from books. My partner Mark and I know the dance of pursue and withdraw from our own experience, and we actively use these practices in our relationship. I know how painful that cycle is. I also know how good it feels when it changes. I developed the Sexually Empowered Radiant Woman Method, which brings together Eastern sacred sexuality teachings and Western psychotherapy. It gives women practical steps to connect with their sensuality and sexuality and enjoy fulfilling intimacy. I live in Titirangi, Auckland, New Zealand with Mark and two children. We love mountain biking, hiking and skiing.

Approach

I work with Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a well-researched couples therapy based on attachment science. Together we find the cycle you keep getting stuck in, and you learn how to step out of it together. Your sex life shows how the relationship is going, so we work on sex as well. I’m a trained sex therapist, and my work is trauma-informed. I also bring in the body, through Hakomi somatic psychotherapy, because some things can’t be reached by talking alone. We go at a pace that feels safe for both of you.
