In our work together we explore what deep-seated beliefs and identifications get in the way of letting your authentic self and self-expression emerge.

About Me

I am deeply touched by all the positive resonance and the referrals that have reached me over the last couple of months. Thanks to all of you for your courage to seek out help and commit to healing, and that I may be part of the journey and be touched by the process. To everyone finding their way to my profile for the first time: A very warm welcome! Here are a few paragraphs about me and my way here. After my studies of cognitive science, I was looking for a therapeutic approach that would allow me to integrate my knowledge of neuroscience and the workings of the brain, with my innate view on the human condition. In Carl Roger's teachings I found my foundation. Working with people not from an expert's position but on eye-level really grounds all my work in the humanistic tradition. I never found that a list of symptoms captured the complexity and subjectivity of a person's experience. After working with Rogers for a while I wanted to broaden my horizon, feeling that a more embodiment centered approach would really complement my work. NARM is everything I looked for and more. Cognitive understanding of one's emotions is rarely enough to treat the core problems and tensions. Instead, NARM achieves a level of bodily integration of emotions that can actually return agency to us and free us from the grip of old, deep-seated emotional patterns. I love and am fascinated by people, and this is the core of my work. I see the light in people, even if it may be shrouded to themselves, and my greatest satisfaction is for you to get to know your self.

Approach

In a session, I will begin by asking you about what you would like most to get out of our work together. This first step is crucial and sometimes not as straight forward as it may sound. After we have formulated what it is that you want for yourself, we explore what gets in the way of you achieving that goal. Anxieties, self-induced pressure, perfectionism, and many more obstacles may litter the path. We explore them with careful curiosity, always conscious of emotions that come up in the present. Finding these anxieties and giving them the attention they deserve, we can start to unravel them. Here, compassion and understanding with yourself is key, and I will be there for you to hold that space.

Basic Information

In-person & Online

Services

In my experiences, any and all difficulties of the mind are traceable to - or at least influenced by - developmental trauma, adverse childhood experience and CPTSD. The way in which we learn to adapt ourselves in order to be OK as children clashes with our authentic self expression in later life. This is what we explore in our sessions. The fundamental dilemma between the great desire to be connected with ourselves and others, and the fear of the very same.
