“You might look like you have it all together while feeling overwhelmed inside. Maybe you’re caught between your family’s expectations and your own path, or your anxiety lives in your body as much as your mind. I offer a warm, grounded space, in English or Spanish, where you can slow down, feel understood, and find your way forward at your own pace.”

About me

Hello and welcome! I’m Sofia. I grew up between two cultures as a first-generation Canadian with deep Mexican roots, so I know what it’s like to translate yourself in both directions and still feel like something gets lost. If that sounds familiar, you won’t have to explain your family or your values to me before you feel understood. A lot of the people I work with are the ones others lean on: the capable ones, the people-pleasers, the high achievers who are quietly running on empty. Some are in the middle of a big change and don’t quite recognize themselves yet. Others have spent years thinking they just need to try harder and are starting to wonder if it’s ADHD. If you’ve never done therapy before, that’s okay. We’ll start gently, and you can take your time.

Approach

I’m interested in the whole of you, your thoughts and also what’s happening in your body. If your anxiety shows up as a tight chest, a racing mind at 2am, or never quite being able to switch off, we’ll work with that directly. I often use parts work (Internal Family Systems), which is a kind and curious way of getting to know the different sides of yourself, like the part that pushes you to keep going or the part that worries about letting people down. I bring in other approaches too, depending on what feels right for you. Our sessions don’t have to be neat. It’s okay to wander off topic, fidget or move around. I’ll listen closely, give you simple tools you can use in everyday life, and gently point it out when I notice a pattern that might be worth a closer look.
