Mrs Shelley Roe-Berning

Counseling Psychologist

I am a counselling psychologist in private practice, working from integrative perspective in the moment - healing is about the whole story.

About Me

I am a Counseling psychologist dedicated to helping you understand your unique experience. I believe healing comes from exploring your whole story, seeing how past events shape your present. In sessions, we work 'in the moment', collaboratively making sense of feelings as they arise. This integrative approach offers a holistic space for connecting your inner world and finding lasting well-being.

Approach

I pay close attention to what unfolds between words, images and body sensations, helping you name patterns as they arise so the present moment becomes informative rather than overwhelming. In my Johannesburg consulting room I work in Afrikaans or English, pacing sessions to your comfort and using gentle, creative experiments and reflective dialogue to access stuck places. Between meetings we sometimes co-create small practices to try out in daily life, noticing shifts together. This way of working often suits people facing anxiety, trauma, parenting strains or life transitions.
