Counseling Psychologist

Over my 2.5 years of experience as a counseling psychologist, I have had the privilege of supporting clients from diverse backgrounds with varying concerns such as emotional dysregulation, inter and intrapersonal challenges among others. My practice is trauma-informed and systemic, drawing from DBT and ACT frameworks.

About Me

As a counseling psychologist, my practice is rooted in affirmative and trauma-informed care. My hope with my work has always been to offer a space to clients where they feel safe enough to explore, pause and reflect on the challenges that they are experiencing. My experience has been in supporting individuals navigating through emotional dysregulation, interpersonal and intrapersonal challenges, and working through major life transitions. When I am not working as a therapist, I enjoy creative explorations through clay and painting. I also find it easier to ground myself through my daily yoga practice.

Approach

My approach in therapy uses a biosocial lens to look at client concerns and how it's affecting their way of responding to situations. As a therapist, it should go without saying but, my practice is rooted in providing affirmative and trauma-informed care. I borrow a lot from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in my work. In sessions, I tend to use mindfulness, body-awareness and emotions-based work. I strongly believe that clients are the experts of their own lives, and so making sense of your experience, how you see the world and why you see it that way is important. At the same time, we also reflect and work with seeing if this perspective is helping you right now or adding to your concerns.

Basic Information

Services

I offer individual therapy to clients, and my practice is currently limited to online sessions. Languages I am fluent in: English, Hindi/Urdu and Tulu Fee: My charges per session are at INR 1500. A sliding scale fee may be offered to students and individuals who are currently unemployed. However, please note that the sliding scale is subject to availability and client context. Before I begin my work with clients, I have a short introductory call (15 mins) with them so that I can understand my clients better. It also gives us both space and time to gauge the therapist-client before we commit to starting work together.
