Psychologist

“I believe therapy can offer us a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what we are going through. I offer a space where you feel heard and accepted, where you can express yourself without worrying about being judged. I don’t believe in having all the answers or offering easy solutions. Instead, I hope to work alongside my clients as they make sense of their experiences and find their own way forward.”

About me

I’m Saalini, originally from Kerala and currently based in Bangalore. I’m a therapist who works with adults, adolescents, as well as parents of children with neurodivergence. I have an MA in Applied Psychology (Clinical Psychology) from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. I believe therapy can offer something we don’t always have in our everyday lives which is a space to pause, reflect, and look at ourselves and our experiences from a different perspective. Sometimes, having someone outside of our lives to listen and help us make sense of what we’re going through can bring a clarity that is difficult to find on our own. I hope to provide that space to my clients where they can slow down, explore what they’re experiencing, and understand themselves a little better. When I’m not thinking about the human mind, I’m usually watching a movie or series, or occasionally getting lost in reels. I try to read a few pages every day, and I enjoy feeding my fish and spending time watching them do their thing.

Approach

I believe each person comes into therapy with their own experiences, struggles, and ways of making sense of the world. So, I don’t think therapy should follow the same path for everyone. I try to understand where a person is coming from and adapt the process to what they need. Our experiences with others can shape how we see ourselves, what we expect from relationships, and how we respond to situations. Exploring these patterns in therapy can help us understand ourselves and our relationships better. Therapy is a space where you don’t have to be harsh on yourself. You don’t have to hide the parts of you that you find difficult to understand or accept. You can bring your confusion, uncomfortable emotions, doubts, and vulnerabilities into the room without the pressure to have everything figured out. I hope to create a space where you can slow down, put your thoughts into words, and hear yourself a little more clearly. Sometimes, expressing something out loud helps us notice things we hadn't quite recognised before. Over time, this can help us make sense of what we are experiencing, recognise patterns and triggers, and find new ways of understanding ourselves.

Services

I offer therapy for adults, adolescents, and support for parents of children with neurodivergence, for clients in India and abroad. It is both online and offline (Bangalore). I take a person-centred, trauma-informed and insight-oriented approach to therapy, drawing from a relational perspective as well. The therapeutic process is tailored to each individual, based on their concerns, needs, and goals for therapy. Through reflection and exploration, we work towards greater self-understanding and finding ways to navigate life's challenges.
