Ms Rivkah Kaufman

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I treat clients struggling with past and ongoing trauma, including the symptoms resulting from their attempts to manage these experiences.

About Me

I work with individuals navigating the lasting impact of past or ongoing trauma. Often, coping attempts themselves lead to confusing or overwhelming symptoms. My aim is to help you understand these reactions and gently process what has happened. Together, we can explore ways to find relief and build resilience for greater stability and peace.

Approach

When survival strategies show up as confusing or overwhelming reactions, therapy focuses on untangling those responses and restoring a sense of safety. Sessions in my Brooklyn office or via secure online meetings, conducted in English, tend to move at a careful, steady pace so you can notice bodily cues, practice simple grounding, and begin to process difficult memories without becoming retraumatized. Between meetings we may track patterns and try brief skills to stabilize your nervous system. This approach often suits people seeking practical, compassionate steps toward steadier functioning.
