I’m an international psychologist and therapist using mindfulness and compassion based approaches to help clients navigate mental health struggles and everyday challenges, to improve wellbeing and performance.

About Me

I’m Rita Dekšnytė, an English and Lithuanian speaking international psychologist and therapist offering a safe space to explore your feelings and find balance. At the heart of my practice at Calm Winds is a universal wish to reduce suffering and help people flourish in their lives. I enjoy supporting my clients in their journeys of exploring inner landscape, strengthening inner resources and tackling life's challenges. Whether you’re living abroad or rooted where you are, you deserve a space to reflect, heal, and grow.

Approach

My practice is grounded in the understanding that life’s winds cannot be stopped, but our capacity to meet them can be strengthened. Drawing on mindfulness-based approaches, I support clients in cultivating steadiness, presence, and flexibility - like a tree that remains rooted even as the storm moves through. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts, emotions, or circumstances, my work focuses on deepening awareness and inner grounding, so challenges can be met with clarity and self-compassion. Therapy here is a practice of learning how to stay rooted, grow resilience, and move forward with greater ease, even in uncertain conditions. I can help you: - Be more present and grounded - Regulate stress, anxiety and emotions - Focus on what really matters - Manage energy and motivation levels - Set clear goals and move towards them - Build a kinder relationship with yourself - Be less caught up in ups and downs of life You can’t stop life’s winds; you can learn to stay rooted. More about therapeutic approaches: - Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) emphasizes the importance of compassion in interactions with the self and the world and aims to bring clients’ emotional systems into balance and promote healing through the work with experiences of inner warmth, safeness and soothing. - Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) fosters acceptance of difficult thought and feelings, encourages committed action in a valued direction, building psychological flexibility with the aim to create rich and meaningful life, while accepting the pain that inevitably goes with it. - Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, aiming to improve mental well-being by changing unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviours.
