In 2022, I completed my Educational psychology internship at the Epworth Therapy and Assessment Centre. My internship has focused on individual, group and family psychotherapeutic intervention for children, adolescents, young adults and couples. It provided training in crisis and emergency therapeutic intervention. It provided training in psychoeducational, developmental, scholastic, emotional, concession, and career assessments, as well as career counselling to children to adults. Additionally, the internship included creating and implementing workshops and support groups for students, teachers, and caregivers. In-service training for psychometry and psychology students was provided. Furthermore, psycho-legal reporting, sexual abuse assessments, and professional development through transdisciplinary consultations, workshops and research were additionally conducted. In 2021, I completed my Masters in Educational Psychology through the University of Pretoria and graduated with distinction. My previous experiences include teaching at two schools, a remedial primary school and a private high school, over the past five years as a Visual Arts, Life Orientation and Learning Support specialist. Additionally, I also hold a BA honours in Psychology as well as Visual and Performing Arts. Within these degrees, the research component focused on the impact of female sexual perpetrators on male victims' masculinity as well as the immersive quality of abstract graphics in gaming. I am incredibly passionate about child psychology, neuroscience and neurodiversity. I have a range of experiences working with neurodivergent children and young adults. Some of the individuals I have worked with include autistic, ADHD and intellectually impaired individuals. Within my practice, I strive to take a person-centred, culturally responsive, holistic and neurodiversity-affirming with all my clients.
