Rhett-Lawson

Rhett-Lawson Mohajer

Registered Psychotherapist

I have a doctoral degree in psychology (PsyD), and am a psychoanalyst, a psychotherapist, and a musician. Psychoanalytic therapy is a journey we undertake together! It is uniquely different from many other approaches because we look at the immediate issues, but the focus is on deeper change.

About Me

As a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist, I invite you to explore the roots of current challenges. This psychoanalytic journey looks beyond immediate issues to foster lasting, deeper change. We work collaboratively, understanding how past experiences shape your present. This approach suits clients seeking profound, lasting change through a thoughtful, ongoing process. I aim to help you uncover new perspectives for enduring well-being.

Approach

Building on that invitation, sessions unfold as careful, paced conversations that balance curiosity with gentle challenge, guided by close listening and an ear for rhythm from my musical background. In my Vancouver office or via secure online work in English or Farsi, we track recurring patterns—how past hurts shape mood, relationships, body image, or eating—and gently name the feelings beneath behaviours. We use open reflection, attention to themes, and occasional focused work between sessions to deepen insight and shift habitual responses. Those seeking thoughtful, enduring change often find this collaborative pace helpful.
