Ms Phetheni Nconco, MA

Counseling Psychologist

Verified

I have a special interest in working with relationship issues, life transitions, trauma, personal development, mood disorders, and anxiety. I offer a nonjudgemental, supportive, and confidential space where I collaborate with individuals, joining them on their life journey as we explore and process their emotional and behavioural experiences in a deeper, more meaningful way. Together, we work to foster self-awareness, facilitate positive change, and enhance overall well-being and effectiveness.

About Me

I am a registered Counselling psychologist based in Plumstead, Cape Town. I obtained my undergraduate, honours, and Master's degree at Wits University. I speak multiple South African languages, including siSwati, isiZulu, isiXhosa, seTswana and English. I have worked at the Helen Joseph hospital and in various private practice companies. I have experience in offering therapy to individuals living with depression, trauma, anxiety, loss, chronic illness, work-related stress, relationship difficulties and adjustment challenges.

Approach

I use different modalities including: Trauma Release Exercises (TRE), Brainworking Recursive Therapy (BWRT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.
