Michelle Prevost, MA

Clinical Psychologist

verified by TherapyRoute

I combine a depth therapy approach with somatic therapies to support a gentle and respectful recovery from trauma.

About Me

I am analytical as well as philosophically minded and enjoy pursuing both breadth and depth in learning. My curiosity and passion for therapeutic work have driven my informal and formal studies in the field over the last twenty years. Moreover, raising children has been an invaluable teacher to me on the curious phenomenon that is the human being.

Approach

My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, trauma informed, compassion focused, and neurodiversity affirming, and incorporates somatic therapies such as brainspotting, hypnosis, and somatic experiencing. I am guided by Jungian and other depth theories, principles of internal family systems and Gestalt, mindfulness, pranayama, and neuroscience. I have been drawn to these theoretical frameworks, practices, and principles in search of the factors that support healing. I believe that our systems have an intelligence that orientates towards reintegration and that we retain an indestructible core that is whole, stable, connected, and joyful.
