Mr Michael Ossher

Psychotherapist

Finding clarity and creating change becomes possible when you feel truly heard, seen, and understood. I offer a dedicated space for you to explore your inner world without judgment. Together, we can gently make sense of complex feelings and patterns, understanding what might be holding you back or giving rise to thoughts and actions you would like to manage better. This collaborative process fosters deep self-awareness, helping you find new paths forward. If you seek to understand yourself more fully, you will find a supportive guide here.

About Me

I have been practising psychotherapy for the past 26 years. I was trained in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy, a psychodynamic model. This model is about thinking about and understanding the feelings that emerge in therapy both for you and for me and what this tells us of what might be going on for you which may have been outside of your awareness. I live and work in Sydney where I have a private practice.

Approach

Together we will consider why old patterns keep returning by considering what has happened in your life as far back as we can reach and by tracking the feelings that emerge moment to moment in sessions so new understandings of them can emerge. In my Sydney studio and via secure online sessions in English, sessions move at a measured pace: attentive listening, quiet reflection, and gentle linking of current difficulties to earlier experiences. Between sessions we may clarify thoughts or notice reactions to deepen what we explore together, always with curiosity rather than judgement. This approach tends to suit adults and couples seeking steady, insightful change.
