Dr Mariska Carter

Clinical Psychologist

I provide psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, parents and children.

About Me

I offer psychotherapy, providing a dedicated space for adults, adolescents, parents, and children. Here, you can openly explore thoughts and feelings. We work collaboratively to understand challenges, fostering clarity and building resilience. My aim is to help your family navigate life's complexities, finding effective ways to move forward. Sessions provide a calm, confidential environment. All parts of your experience are welcome, whatever your age or concern.

Approach

Sessions move between gentle curiosity and practical steps, helping you name patterns and try small changes that fit your life. I work from George, Western Cape, offering therapy in English and Afrikaans, and I blend conversational space with activities or structured skill practice so children, teens and adults feel understood and able to act. When helpful, I use focused assessments to clarify difficulties and shape realistic goals, and I sometimes suggest brief tasks between sessions to build momentum. This approach tends to suit families and individuals facing transitions, anxiety or sleep and stress struggles.
