Dr Marina McLoughlin

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist

Psychoanalytic psychotherapist, Clinical Fellow of the International Neuropsychoanalysis Society and Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, working online with adults across the UK. Also available for clinical supervision.

About Me

An experienced medical psychotherapist and supervisor working with adults.

Approach

I work via video with adults (anybody over 18) in a model of psychoanalytic psychotherapy. When necessary I may also use Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT) techniques. In line with the most recent findings from Neuropsychoanalysis, I work with a particular emphasis on emotions, how these may be connected to past experiences and repeating patterns in one’s present life. In my private work I only provide psychotherapy and do not diagnose mental health conditions or prescribe medication.

Basic Information

Services

I am an experienced medical psychotherapist working with adults. At present I offer online sessions only. If you notice recurring difficulties in relationships, problems with self-image and self-esteem, and have curiosity about your inner world and a determination to make changes it may be time to consider psychotherapy. To arrange a consultation please message me via the Contact form on this site. In addition, I provide individual clinical supervision for colleagues working in the field of psychotherapy. This is a regular commitment at a frequency that would suit you. For colleagues working in healthcare settings, who are interested in professional development, I offer complex case discussions either on a one-off basis or as regular supervision meetings. I also provide reflective practice for groups of professionals.
