Ms Maria Matias

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist candidate, commited to creating a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your inner world. My work is rooted in relational psychoanalysis, a person-centered approach, and feminist values.

About Me

I believe our sessions should be a truly safe and compassionate space for you to explore your inner world. Here, we can gently uncover the patterns shaping your experiences, especially through our relational work together. My person-centred approach, informed by feminist values, means we focus on what matters most to you. This is somewhere to gain deeper self-understanding and find your own way forward.

Approach

Committed to curiosity and gentle honesty, I help you notice patterns beneath day-to-day struggles and the emotions that quietly shape choices. I offer sessions in Lisboa and online, in English and Portuguese, paced to your needs with room for reflection between meetings. In session we attend to dreams, bodily experiences and relationship moments, using careful listening, thoughtful reflection and collaborative interpretation to link past experiences with present challenges. This approach often feels helpful for adults facing transitions, anxiety, body‑image or eating‑related concerns.
