Mr Luke Bands

Counseling Psychologist

I am a counselling psychologist whose focus is on creating a safe relationship where you can process your thoughts and emotions. I help you learn more about yourself, and develop more confidence in dealing with your experiences.

About Me

I offer a contained space if you are ready to understand yourself and your feelings. We work together, making sense of your experiences, emotions and patterns that influence your life. This process helps you overcome issues and improve your daily functioning. The therapy relationship becomes a steady foundation as we navigate your journey towards greater wellbeing.

Approach

I use a psychodynamic approach when working with clients. This is an approach where space is created to make sense of your thoughts and feelings. Over time, we build insight into your mind with the goal of overcoming issues and improving your day to day functioning and wellbeing. Deep insight and emotional regulation are examples of important goals in this type of therapy.

Services

I offer individual therapy for adults and teenagers. The range of my work is broad, from coping with immediate trauma or life adjustments, to long term psychotherapy. The therapy is dynamic, and so I pay ongoing attention to your experience and needs as we progress. You may need support at one stage, and challenging at another. This type of therapy works on different levels. Perhaps you would like to develop a deeper understanding of yourself. Or perhaps you would prefer short term support. In either case, if you are finding it hard to love, work or play, or you would like to manage your feelings better, or improve your relationships with others or yourself, get in touch.
