Mrs Luiza Bugajna

CBT Psychotherapist

Welcome, I’m Luiza, bilingual English/Polish speaking Psychotherapist based in the UK. I offer compassionate, focused, and evidence-based treatment for anxiety, trauma & PTSD and relationship difficulties.

About Me

I bring a rare and deeply authentic combination of professional training and lived experience to my work. I’m not just a therapist who has studied trauma, I’ve lived it. My own experiences and the challenges of navigating life have shaped how I understand suffering, recovery, and the courage it takes to ask for help. This doesn’t mean I assume I know exactly what you’re going through. Rather, it helps me meet you with honesty, depth, and genuine understanding. My clients often tell me they feel seen, not just treated, and that’s my intention. Born and raised in an Eastern European country, I bring a culturally sensitive perspective to my work and strive to foster inclusive, respectful therapeutic spaces. I also offer therapy in my native language, Polish. Working collaboratively and building meaningful connections are at the heart of my professional values. I’m genuinely passionate about making a difference in the lives of the people I work with.

Approach

I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be honest, understood enough to feel supported, and empowered enough to make meaningful changes. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I draw on evidence-based therapies including CBT, EMDR, ACT, and mindfulness-based approaches, tailoring our work to your needs rather than expecting you to fit into a particular method. I’m also a former perfectionist, and I understand how easy it can be to become caught in self-criticism, overthinking, or the feeling that you should be coping better. Together, we can begin to understand these patterns, develop practical ways of responding differently, and make space for greater self-compassion. I’m warm and supportive, but I’m also direct when that is helpful. I won’t simply tell you what you want to hear. I’ll work with you to explore what is keeping you stuck, while respecting your pace and what feels manageable.
