Miss Linda Byrne

Psychology Practitioner

A competent and experienced Coaching Psychologist, specialising in using polyvagal theory (how our nervous system responds to cues of perceived safety and threat) as a lens to treat anxiety, stress and burnout. Other approaches include cognitive behavioural coaching, somatic modalities and positive psychology.

About Me

I am a Polyvagal Informed Coaching Psychologist and Researcher. When anxiety or stress feel overwhelming, I guide clients to understand their nervous system. We explore how your nervous system responds to cues of perceived safety and threat, using the lens of polyvagal theory. Through practical tools, including somatic modalities, this coaching approach helps you to gain clarity and build lasting resilience, fostering a deeper sense of calm.

Approach

6 to 10 weeks of weekly 45 min sessions. Sessions are spent practicing somatic based nervous system regulating exercises which you will then practice on your own in between sessions. Although our sessions are practical/experiencial, there can be some theory and discussion where appropriate so that you can a) build your understanding of what we are doing and why it works and b) explore what nervous system regulating resources you already have available to you. After 6 to 10 weeks, you will then have a personalised and self manageable nervous system regulation program which you can use in any situation throughout life.
