Registered Clinical Psychologist,
Cape Town.
I offer face-to-face or online individual psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and children.
Adult individual therapy is offered to those 18 years or older. Therapy can be structured for a short-term (12-15 sessions) or long-term process. Typically the first 2- 3 sessions are set aside for the information-taking phase where a full symptom and personal history will be taken for the psychologist to gain a holistic understanding of your presenting problem. Thereafter you will receive feedback on the information gathered and your psychologist will recommend an appropriate form of intervention suited to your therapeutic goals. At this stage, session frequency will be discussed and the therapy will commence. At the end of your therapeutic journey, a termination session will be held to reflect on and appropriately end your process.
Child/ adolescent Individual therapy is offered to those between the ages of 6 and 17 years . Therapy can be structured for a short-term (12-15 sessions) or long-term process. The therapeutic process will begin with an initial information-taking phase which will include a session with the parents of the child/adolescent followed by 2 sessions spent individually with the child/adolescent. Once the information-taking phase is complete a feedback session will be scheduled to provide all parties with the diagnosis and treatment management plan moving forward. At this stage, session frequency will be discussed and the treatment will commence. At the end of the therapeutic journey, a termination session will be held to reflect on and appropriately bring the therapeutic process to a close.
Practice Fees
The cash fee per session is a private rate of R950 for 2021. All payments are to be made via EFT and paid immediately after each consultation.
Cancellations
Please note that any session changes or cancellations must be done at least 24 hours in advance via email. Failure to do so will result in clients being charged in full for the missed appointment and will not be covered by medical aid.
Medical Aid
Where applicable, sessions can be funded by your medical aid via your savings or Prescribed Minimum Benefit (PMB). I am registered with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and currently accept payment via the following medical aids:
AECI
Barloworld
Bonitas
Discovery
Fedhealth
Horizon
Hosmed
MBMed
Nedbank Group
Parmed
Polmed
SABC
Sasolmed
It is important that clients liaise with their medical aid to first find out about their funding availability. The practice is able to submit claims directly to the abovementioned medical aids upon request. Medical aid claims are charged at medical aid rates (which vary between medical aids). Please note that not all diagnoses are covered by medical aid’s PMB and that your psychologist will first need to assess your presentation before you apply for medical aid PMB funding. Clients can also pay for their sessions in cash at the cash rate and submit their invoices to medical aid for reimbursements (where applicable). You are welcome to contact the practice for further information.

CORE SERVICES:
In practice, I work from an eclectic approach as I have found therapeutic flexibility to be helpful in meeting my patients’ needs. My therapeutic approach mainly draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
The aim of psychotherapy is to create a non-judgmental environment in which one can safely lean into their vulnerabilities and address their challenges in session while feeling contained within the therapeutic space. I believe in working authentically and collaboratively with my patients to help them achieve their therapeutic goals.
