About Me

Hi! I'm Dr. Levent Kurt, a family and couple therapist based in Çorlu, Turkiye. Alongside my role as an assistant professor at Istanbul Kent University, I've been on a 17-year journey dedicated to supporting mental well-being and stronger relationships. My approach is all about understanding life's ups and downs, whether it's dealing with emotions, perceptions, cognitions and behaviors in various contexts. I've worked with diverse and multicultural couples and individuals, creating a safe and inclusive space for everyone. Throughout my career, I have continuously honed my skills and expanded my expertise through rigorous training and certifications. Certified in Family and Couple Therapy by the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA) and trained in addiction counseling, transactional analysis, and solution-focused therapy, I bring a holistic and contextual approach to my practice. By integrating various therapeutic modalities, I try to empower clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, perceptions in significant relationships in a supportive and collaborative environment. I also work as a university professor at Istanbul Kent University and teach psychopathology, sexology and couple therapy, developmental psychology and industrial and organizational psychology. Whether you're after personal growth, happier couple and family relationships, or a happier workplace, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Reach out and let's begin your journey towards positive change.

Approach

In my therapeutic approach, I blend different approaches to fit your unique needs. With a background in clinical psychology and training in various therapies like systemic family therapy, CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and solution focused therapy. While working with couples, I invite both partners to the first initial session to understand the needs and expectations of couples. After that I arrange individual sessions for each partner. During the therapy process some sessions are arranged for both partners and some sessions for each individuals. This way, both partners get a chance to explore what’s going on for them individually and together as a couple. My approach emphasizes the interconnectedness of individuals within their social and familial contexts, recognizing the importance of systemic dynamics in understanding and addressing psychological concerns. Through compassionate inquiry and skillful interventions, I assist clients in navigating life's challenges, fostering resilience, and promoting meaningful change. Collaboration with clients is at the center of my practice. My work is primarily based on exploring and improving the functioning of your cognitions, perceptions, emotions and behaviors in order to provide psychological flexibility, resilience and well-being. Let's work together to create a path toward greater well-being and fulfillment. I offer 20 minutes of free initial session to understand your needs and expectations and evaluate if my approach is a good fit for you.
