Ms Laura Bailey

Therapist / Counselor (Qualifying)

Child-centered, non-directive play therapy.

About Me

I offer child-centred, non-directive play therapy, creating a gentle space where children can explore their world. Using toys and creative materials, they can express big feelings and experiences they might not yet have words for. This approach allows children to lead their own journey, processing challenges at their own pace. It helps them build confidence, make sense of their emotions, and find their unique way forward.

Approach

Children lead the session, and I follow—watching, reflecting, and gently offering moments that help them make sense of what’s happening. Sessions take place in my Longmont office, in English, paced to match each child's comfort and developmental level. Through play, drawing and simple rituals I track patterns of behaviour and feeling, name themes for caregivers, and shape small, practical steps between meetings to support safety and routine. This way of working often suits young children, under-fives and adolescents who feel overwhelmed or stuck after difficult experiences.
