Dr Kathy Evans

Child Psychotherapist

Experience with trauma, mood disorders, children, teens adults and families.

About Me

I work with children, teens, and adults, alongside their families, to navigate the complexities of trauma and mood disorders. As a Child Psychotherapist, I understand how these challenges impact individuals across all ages. We can explore difficult feelings and experiences together in a safe, collaborative space. My approach helps you make sense of struggles, fostering resilience. It offers practical ways to cope, strengthening connections within families.

Approach

Having worked across ages and family systems, my focus is on how we move through upsetting moments into clearer daily routines and relationships. In my Irvine office I offer sessions in English or Spanish, keeping sessions steady and paced to what each child or family can manage. I use careful assessment, parent collaboration and brief between-session strategies to track progress, adjust supports and advocate when school or services need a clearer voice. This way of working tends to suit families who want practical, collaborative steps toward feeling more grounded.
