CORE SERVICES:
Therapy is a collaborative effort between client and therapist, meaning that you and your therapist will work together to set and achieve your goals.
When you contact us to set up services, we will assist you in verifying your insurance coverage. You can then schedule your first appointment, which will consist of an initial evaluation, preliminary goal-setting, and determining the frequency and scheduling of additional sessions.
How do I get started?
You can call or text (304) 760-9945, or you can email [email protected].
DISCLAIMER: We cannot guarantee confidentiality of information sent via email or text message. For the protection of your privacy, we discourage the sharing of confidential information through our website, social media channels, text message, or email. These methods of communication are intended for basic outreach, scheduling, and administrative purposes only, and we cannot guarantee the security of information shared via these means. Please refrain from disclosing sensitive or confidential information through those channels and instead reserve such discussions for sessions with your therapist that take place in-person or on our secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that is specifically designated for therapy purposes.
Once you reach out to us to establish care, we will gather some basic information, including an email address to give you access to our secure client portal, where you can fill out our intake paperwork. This will allow us to verify your insurance coverage and will give your therapist valuable information ahead of your initial appointment. It also means that your initial appointment is spent with your therapist rather than filling out forms!
To access our client portal, you will receive an email coming from "Simple Practice" or "Aspire Counseling" with a unique link. If you don't see an email, you may need to check your spam/junk folder just in case. If you still don't see an email, let us know. Once all of the paperwork has been completed, we will automatically be notified and get our benefits team going with verifying your insurance coverage (if applicable). We will notify you of your benefit information, and then you'll be all set for scheduling with your therapist!
The frequency and duration of treatment vary from client to client and depend on a number of factors. The frequency of your appointments depends on your therapist's availability, your preference, and the severity of your presenting concern(s). Please feel free to communicate with your therapist about your preferences.
This depends on whether you will be using insurance. If you do have insurance, we have a benefits team that will verify your coverage ahead of time so you will know your out-of-pocket cost (i.e., deductible or copay) up front.
We also offer a sliding fee scale on a limited basis. If you are uninsured or have a high-deductible policy, or if we are not in-network with your insurance, you may qualify. Fees are set based on household income and number of dependents.
What insurances do you accept?
We are currently in-network with Aetna, Aetna Better Health of West Virginia, BCBS/Highmark, Humana, West Virginia PEIA (UMR), The Health Plan, TRICARE, and United Healthcare/UBH/Optum/VACCN.
We are also able to bill other insurances as an out-of-network provider (e.g., Cigna, ComPsych).
We are NOT able to bill Unicare or Medicare.
If you're unsure of what your insurance will cover, we have a benefits team to verify everything for you ahead of time. You will know about any out-of-pocket costs up front.
Other questions about billing? For insurance-related questions, contact Better Billing Solutions at (304) 759-8981 or [email protected]. For questions about self-pay options, contact us directly at (304) 760-9945 or [email protected].
Unfortunately, there's no easy answer to that question. The duration of therapy depends on a number of factors, including the severity of symptoms, the frequency of sessions, and how much work the client is willing to put into the process. Any good therapist is always working their way out of a job. Why? Because the most basic goal of therapy is to no longer need therapy. However, the therapist can only do so much. Therapists aren't magicians or wizards (although that would be cool!), and there is no magic wand.
The bottom line is that therapy takes time and effort. The clients who get the most out of it are those who come in ready to participate in self-exploration, put in the work, and move toward change. If that's you, we'd love to hear from you!
Finding the right therapist can be like finding the right pair of jeans; sometimes the first one you try isn't the best fit. It's also kind of a big deal, right? I mean, you're basically looking for a person that you can feel safe talking with about things that may be deeply personal... not to mention someone who accepts your insurance and has an office within a reasonable distance and convenient hours. Yikes!
Sites like this are a great starting point. You can browse profiles and look into different clinicians and their backgrounds. On our website (https://www.aspire-counseling.org/who-we-are), you can see now only our providers' credentials and clinical specialties, but you can also see photos to put a face with the name and start to get a sense of their personalities and demeanor so you can see if you think you might "click" with them.
And listen... sometimes the first therapist you match with isn't actually a match, and that's okay! No therapist is a good fit for everyone, and we know that. If that happens, don't hesitate to let us know. We ask that you be kind, but it's absolutely okay to be honest about how you're feeling. Therapy is a personal experience, and we want it to be a positive and productive one for you. If you don't feel comfortable speaking with your therapist directly, you can contact our main office at (304) 760-9945 or [email protected]. If possible, let the intake coordinator know what you're looking for in a therapist that would help make it a better fit.
