Dr Julie Carbery

Child Psychotherapist

I am experienced in working with children and teens on developmental issues and trauma. Certified in psychotherapeutic yoga, I use modalities including guided imagery, breathwork and postures to create healing and change in youth.

About Me

I guide children and teens through developmental issues and the impact of trauma. My approach integrates psychotherapeutic yoga, offering a gentle path to healing and change. We might use breathwork, for instance, to help young people find calm and build resilience. This body-centred work provides practical tools. It is ideal for those navigating big emotions and seeking lasting positive shifts.

Approach

Healing takes shape through small, embodied practices and simple stories that help young people name what feels big. In my Dallas office, sessions move at a calm pace in English, balancing gentle movement, breathwork and playful tasks with quiet reflection so kids and caregivers feel steady. Between visits I offer short, doable practices families can try to reinforce new rhythms and safety skills. This way of working tends to fit those navigating developmental change, anxiety, attachment wounds or the aftermath of loss.
