About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in independent practice in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa. I treat relationship issues, life transitions, behaviour or conduct problems, mood and anxiety disorders. I have a special interest in dream work and also provide clinical supervision.
Approach
JP is a thoughtful and attentive therapist who works with individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds. He was trained psychodynamically and is informed by psychoanalytic theory, but most of all continually tries to meet his clients in a new and unique way. In thinking and experiencing 'being in the world' together, he aims to better understand people and which ever dillemas they may be facing. The client's own long-term best interests takes precedence over short-term fixes or changes. In other words, the work revolves around "getting better" over "feeling better".
