Psychodynamic psychotherapist operating in Hout Bay. I treat adolescents and adults with a range of life challenges and mental health problems.

About Me

I am a Clinical Psychologist in Hout Bay, Cape Town. I provide psychotherapeutic services to adolescents and adults to help with the challenges of life and personal growth. I am an empathetic person with a passion for psychological work, human healing and learning about the complexity of human experience.

Approach

As a psychotherapist I work from a psychodynamic perspective. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a widely employed scientific, evidence-based approach to therapy. I see clients with a minimum frequency of once a week. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an open-ended, approach to therapy with an emphasis on creating a safe space to understand oneself better, feel emotions more fully, build healthy relationships and find meaning in life. If you are interested in learning more about this approach I recommend this article by Dr Jonathan Shedler, internationally acclaimed psychologist. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/getting-to-know-me/ I also offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy which is a more intensive version of psychodynamic psychotherapy, where we meet twice a week over a long time period. I do offer a couple of slots of low fee psychotherapy only for clients willing to do twice weekly therapy for 18 months or more.
