Joanne Lechowicz

Registered Social Worker

With over 30 years of experience as a therapist, I am passionate in helping people to move forward in their lives beyond the problems that hold them back from living the kind of life they want . Some areas that I work with clients around are substance misuse, mood/anxiety/stress, improving relationships.

About Me

With over 30 years of experience, I am passionate about helping you navigate what holds you back. If you are struggling with substance misuse, or managing mood, anxiety, or stress, I can support you. We can also explore ways to improve your relationships. My approach involves working collaboratively on these specific challenges, helping you find practical ways forward to live the life you truly desire.

Approach

Drawing from decades guiding clients past obstacles, I begin by listening closely to your story and priorities, then we set small, practical goals together. Sessions in my Newmarket office are collaborative and steady; we use mindfulness, MBCT techniques and family-focused conversations to notice patterns, practice new responses, and build coping skills between meetings. For substance, mood or relationship struggles I balance gentle challenge with concrete tools, adapting pace to suit adolescents, adults, couples or families. People who want clear steps and compassionate support tend to find this approach helpful.
