Dr Joanna Jaaniste

Allied Professional

I am a trained and registered dramatherapist and lecturer in art therapy. I offer a sensitive and non-threatening choice of techniques.

About Me

As a trained and registered dramatherapist, I guide individuals to explore their feelings and experiences using sensitive, non-threatening techniques. This creative approach offers a gentle way to make sense of challenges. It's particularly helpful for those who find direct verbal expression difficult. We can work together to find methods that feel safe and comfortable, helping you express yourself freely. This collaborative process supports personal understanding and growth.

Approach

You’ll find the pace calm and exploratory, with playful improvisation, simple art tasks and short enactments used to notice feelings before words arrive. In Lilyfield or via secure online sessions in English, we set small, clear steps—sometimes sketching between meetings or rehearsing a scene—to track shifts and make change manageable. Sessions are collaborative: I offer gentle invitations and practical framing while you decide what feels useful to try next. This way of working often suits adults coping with anxiety, transitions, burnout or past hurts who prefer a less direct route to understanding.
