About Me

I am a Registered Social Worker in Markham, Ontario. I work with you on anxiety, stress, relationship issues and codependency. I provide counseling, individual therapy and social work services in person and online.

Approach

I believe my own ethnic and cultural experience allows me to understand you and relate to your struggles if you identify with the Asian community. I know the weight of expectations—whether it was about academic success, career choices, or even family dynamics. I understand how these pressures can create a sense of conflict, especially when trying to balance personal desires with cultural values.

I am passionate about helping you understand and manage your struggles, whether it be anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, or relationship and communication issues. To help you make sense of and finding the root cause of your struggles that may stem from having a difficult past and childhood.

I aim to hold space for you and to help you feel seen and heard in a time when you feel there is no support or perhaps feeling unheard/unseen for most of your life. I am committed to understanding your unique story and assist you in gaining more insight into your patterns and tendencies that keeps you feeling stuck and continues to feed into your anxiety and depression.

My aim is to create a safe and secure space for you to talk about your current issues while gaining some clarity and understanding of where it might be stemming from through past wounds, hurts, hardships and childhood difficulties.

I am a strong believer that every person has the ability to earn security, self-confidence, feel content in life and develop a strong sense of self through the work they do with themselves. Every person is accountable for their own self-growth.

Basic Information

Services

People connect with me to help understand and address the negative impact of how they were raised, specifically within Asian cultures. You are someone who had a difficult childhood upbringing leaving you feeling unloved, unheard and unseen. Who tends to be a people pleaser and can't say "no" to others. You are overly critical and doubt yourself. You experience low self-worth and self-esteem. Feeling unsatisfied in yourself and in your relationships. Someone who fears failure, judgement, rejection and abandonment. Someone who constantly feels anxious because you're unsure of yourself and needs, and lacks independence.

Work we do will go deep to help tackle the root cause of your concerns. The hope is to help you feel more confident about yourself, learn to set healthy boundaries with others, and better express your needs. You will understand and manage unpleasant emotions better, learn to accept yourself, improve your self-worth and stand up for yourself.
