About Me

I am an experienced, authentic and compassionate counsellor. My focus is on providing a safe place for you to heal difficulties from your past so that you can move forward in your life with greater ease and enjoyment. I know how important it is to feel deeply heard and understood for who you are. Profound and lasting healing occurs when you’re in a relationship with a counsellor who prioritizes the counsellor relationship above all else. When you feel accepted for who you are, feelings of shame and not being “good enough” dissolve and create space for you to grow. While a strong relationship with me is critical to your success in counselling, I also use proven tools, based on the latest brain-based research. We know that difficult experiences from our past become hard-wired in the brain. When these events are not healed, they continue to cause distress throughout your life – even when you’re unaware that this is happening. I’m trained in evidence-based healing methods – Mindfulness and Somatic Experiencing – that enable you to “unlock” the stress that is stuck in your nervous system, freeing you to become who you were meant to be.

Approach

Gentle, steady pacing guides our work as we tend to nervous system cues and practical coping so you can feel steadier in daily life. In my Vancouver, BC, office and online, sessions mix attentive felt-sense tracking, short guided movement or breathing practices, and collaborative reflection so insights translate into small, doable changes between meetings. You’ll notice attention to safety, rhythm, and clarity rather than rush; people recovering from overwhelm, loss, or relational strain often find this measured, embodied way of working helpful.
