Janice James, M.Sc.

Counselling Psychologist

“If you are struggling with anxious feelings, feeling pressured by the weight of your own expectations or others', unable to manage your interpersonal relationships, or need support with work-life integration, then I'm here to help. ”

About me

I'm a therapist and the founder of Unfinished Stories, a space that encourages people to understand themselves with greater curiosity and less judgment. I work with adults (18+) navigating anxiety, trauma, work-life integration, family dynamics, and relationship concerns. Based in New Delhi, I work with clients across India as well as NRIs and members of the Indian diaspora globally, with sessions scheduled to accommodate different time zones. I also offer a free 15-minute exploratory call for those who would like to understand more about therapy or my approach before scheduling a session.

Approach

My approach is trauma-informed and queer-affirmative, with a strong emphasis on self-exploration and understanding rather than “fixing” what feels wrong. I believe that therapy can be a space to become more curious about one's experiences, understand different parts of oneself, and build a life that feels more authentic and aligned. My therapeutic approach draws from Internal Family Systems, Inner Child Work, Narrative practices, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Art-Based therapy. I adapt these approaches to each client's needs, creating a collaborative and reflective space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and patterns with greater self-awareness and compassion.
