Ivana Tufekcic

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

An experienced psychotherapist working with individuals and couples in CA.

About Me

I help couples in Sacramento and across California move from feeling like roommates to feeling like partners again. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based, trauma-informed approaches, I help you slow down repetitive conflict, understand what's really happening beneath it, and rebuild trust and emotional closeness. I also work with individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, and relationship patterns rooted in earlier experiences. Sessions are available in-person in Sacramento or online throughout California. You can learn more about my approach and current availability at ivanatufekcic.com

Approach

My approach is warm, direct, and rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment theory, and trauma-informed care. Rather than just managing surface-level conflict, we slow down to understand the deeper fears and needs driving disconnection — then build new, safer patterns of relating. For couples, this often means learning to communicate without escalating, repairing broken trust, and rebuilding emotional and physical intimacy. For individuals, sessions focus on understanding relational patterns, working through anxiety, and navigating life transitions with more clarity and self-compassion. Whether in-person in Sacramento or online across California, I meet you where you are and pace the work to what feels manageable.
