Francisca Lizana

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

An experienced bilingual therapist attuned to fostering emotional health through expressive arts & emotional literacy.

About Me

I offer a welcoming space where you can gently explore your emotional world. As an experienced bilingual therapist, I guide clients in understanding feelings often hard to put into words. Through creative expression and building emotional literacy, we make sense of complex experiences. This approach is ideal for those seeking resilience and clearer ways to navigate life, fostering lasting emotional health.

Approach

We often shift from gentle conversation into creative practices—art, movement, guided imagery—to access feelings that words alone don't reach. In my Oakland office or via online sessions in English or Spanish, I pace work collaboratively, using short creative experiments, reflective discussion, and occasional assessments to clarify patterns and strengths. Between sessions I may offer simple practices—journaling prompts, art-spark suggestions, or grounding rituals—to support integration and steady progress. People facing transitions, overwhelm, trauma, or parenting challenges tend to find this hands-on, compassionate rhythm helpful.
